Howdy, Partner!

Hat tip to Superducktoes - the creator of the original Boston Dives project that this fork is based on.

Welcome to Austin Dives - your trusty guide to the best watering holes in the Live Music Capital of the World.

How It Works

πŸ—ΊοΈ Interactive Map

The main page shows an interactive map of Austin with all the dive bars, neighborhood bars, and cheap eats marked. Each marker is color-coded:

🀠 Find Nearest Watering Hole

Tap the "Find Nearest Watering Hole" button and we'll use your location to find the closest bar. You'll get walking directions faster than a tumbleweed in a Texas windstorm. On mobile, you'll also get a link to open directions in your maps app.

πŸ₯ƒ Notes & Recommendations

Click on any bar to see what makes it special. Each spot has notes on what to order and what to expect:

🎸 Filter By Type

Use the filter buttons to narrow down what you're looking for:

Note: A bar can have multiple tags - a dive bar can also have live music AND be a dance hall!

βœ… Track Your Progress

Mark off each bar you've visited by clicking "I Drank Here!" in the popup. Your progress is saved locally in your browser - no account needed. See how many you've conquered and which ones are still waiting for you.

Please Drink Responsibly

Always use a designated driver, rideshare service (Uber, Lyft), taxi, or public transit when visiting bars. Know your limits and look out for your friends.
